Residential Subdivision and Offset Boondall

I’ve had the opportunity to work on this project from the very beginning, starting in the planning phase in 2022. What began as a chicken farm in a suburban area, often the subject of community complaints, is now set to become a thoughtfully planned development that balances growth with ecological responsibility.

Key deliverables included an Ecological Assessment Report, Concept Rehabilitation Plan, and Tree Retention Plan as part of the Development Application. I also prepared the operational environmental management documentation, including the Rehabilitation Plan, Vegetation Management Plan, and all necessary environmental permits and approvals.

The development avoids impacting biodiversity values and focuses on restoration within the southern portion of the site, which forms part of a broader ecological corridor. This area serves as a dedicated environmental offset, supporting the protection and enhancement of local ecological values.

The project is on track for final approval in the coming weeks, with construction scheduled to begin in May.

This transformation is a great example of turning a challenging site into a sustainable outcome—with clear environmental benefits and improved community value.
